Efficient interchange of the XML Information Set

EXI is expected to introduce XML to domains where the application is not feasible

• (Wireless) Sensor networks
• Embedded networks
• Restricted embedded devices
• Portable devices in general, with typically slow processors and low bandwidth data connections
• Minimal XML database storages

On the other hand the Efficient XML Interchange format is expected to increase performance, reduce requirements, processing power and time where XML is used already at present.
